I want to take this opportunity to elaborate a little about why I am running for Democratic State Committeeman. For so many years we have lived side by side and looked to our leaders to bring leadership and reform to our community. Now is the time for us to work together to tackle the daunting issues that our community needs to work on. Those issues such as child care, health care, education, housing, poverty, homelessness, etc. With the failed leadership in Albany, a late budget, budget cuts and gridlock, we cannot afford to sit back and hope for a miracle. The time to act is now. Our community needs new leadership. For too long we have been electing the same cast of characters expecting a different result.
I embarked on this campaign to provide a voice to those who are voiceless, to empower our community, to bring leadership, to unite our community, and to provide direction for those who are tired of polarizing politics, and want to turn in a different direction. I believe that by working together we can make a difference. I believe that with good informed leadership and good common sense public policy, we can deliver change in our society.
I ask for your support Tuesday September 14th, 2010 as I seek to serve you. I ask for a chance to assist you in your quest for answers.
